I’ll help Free SHS succeed – Salinko
Salinko, who contested as parliamentary candidate for Atwima Kwanwoma in the 2016 election on the ticket of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the Ashanti Region, expressed the hope that Free SHS would ease the burden on Ghanaian parents.
Speaking to Ray Charles Marfo on Adehye99.1FM’s Showbiz Arena on Tuesday 21 February, Salinko disclosed that he had set up an organisation known as FCUBE to help the Free SHS policy stand on its feet.
The actor disclosed that fellow actor Kofi Adu, more commonly referred to as Agya Koo, and actress Matilda Asare were involved in the FCUBE project.
“Many Ghanaians, especially parents and students, will be looking forward to the implementation of the policy because the burden of funding education has been taken over by the government. I will ensure that the Free SHS education by Nana Akufo-Addo becomes effective. I will move across the country to encourage students to take advantage of the Free SHS because education should be their priority,” he stated.
“I am doing this with my colleagues Agya Koo and Matilda Asare. We have taken it upon ourselves to visit the principal streets of the country to encourage the young ones who are hawking on the streets to return to the classroom.”
The actor, in conclusion, asked Mr Akufo-Addo to give them his blessing and support on their FCUBE initiative.
